Yangfan Xu focuses his practice in intellectual property law matters in the life science field.
 
While trained as a chemical and biomolecular engineer, Yangfan is experienced in a broad range of technologies such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Gel Electrophoresis, Fluorescence Spectroscopy, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), NMR, Mass Spectroscopy, IR Spectroscopy, UV-Vis Spectroscopy and Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM). He has worked with a variety of clients ranging from universities to large corporate client. Yangfan has managed patent portfolios in the areas of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, agriculture and chemistry. 
 
Yangfan was a judicial intern for a federal district court judge in the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey where he observed court proceedings, settlement conferences and trials, and gained experience drafting legal opinions and decisions on motions in federal court. Yangfan also has trademark prosecution and litigation experience. 
 
Yangfan received his B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. He received his Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and biomolecular from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Environmental Law Review and Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy. 
 
Yangfan is a native Mandarin speaker.
