Albert Boardman’s practice focuses on patent prosecution, preparation and litigation in the high-tech sector, particularly in the areas of computer software and consumer electronics.

As a registered patent attorney, Albert has prepared and prosecuted patents in the fields of cloud computing, computer virtualization, computer graphics and electronic devices. He has experience in technologies such as computer hardware and software, smartphones, servo-writing, high density magnetic storage, medical devices, and financial technology.

Albert has a broad practice that encompasses patent litigation, prosecution, due diligence, infringement and validity opinions, and freedom-to-operate. He counsels a broad range of both domestic and international clients. He has experience in U.S. District Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the International Trade Commission.

Prior to practicing law, Albert worked at Merrill Lynch as a software developer and market risk manager. He also worked as a software engineer for IBM Corporation. In addition to a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Albert holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the City College of the City University of New York, an M.S. in computer science from Columbia University, and an MBA in finance and statistics from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
