
Michael P. Kochka concentrates his practice in representing various companies and individuals in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent, copyright and trademark procurement, counseling and litigation. He has extensive experience in complex patent preparation and prosecution in a broad range of technologies including computer software, wireless communication devices, plasma display panels, power supplies, electrical connectors, exercise devices, containers, textiles, packaging, furniture, medical devices and business methods. Mr. Kochka has considerable industry experience, having worked in the field of information security with a large global telecommunications corporation prior to attending law school.
Mr. Kochka has extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the internet, computer, and business related invention arena. He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications covering internet technologies relating to social networking, project management, investment collaboration, real estate management, exercise and nutrition program management, and medical information organization. Mr. Kochka is frequently consulted on developing prosecution strategies relating to computer-implemented and internet related inventions.
Mr. Kochka earned his J.D. from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, School of Law-Camden and his M.B.A from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Business School – Newark and New Brunswick. Mr. Kochka is a summa cum laude graduate of Felician College (Lodi, NJ) where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.
Mr. Kochka is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Brehon Law Society.
