

Richard Mandaro practices in all aspects of Intellectual Property law including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, unfair competition and anti-counterfeiting with an emphasis on litigation. His technical background in Electrical Engineering supplements his extensive experience in handling large and complex litigation matters including multi-district litigation cases in some of the leading intellectual property litigation venues, including the Eastern District of Texas and the Central District of California.
Mr. Mandaro represents clients in consumer electronics and technology related industries, including semi-conductors, computer and internet technologies, camcorders, plasma and LCD televisions, sensors, telecommunications, holiday light products and plastic resins.
Most recently, Mr. Mandaro has been appointed as liaison counsel to coordinate numerous defendant groups in the largest patent multi-district litigation case against Ronald A. Katz Technology Licensing, L.P. (also known as "RAKTL" or "Katz").
The RAKTL multi-district case involves a portfolio of more than fifty patents primarily in the field of automated call center technology relating to toll free numbers, automated attendant, automated call distribution (ACD), voice response unit (VRU), computer telephone integration (CTI) and speech recognition.
In addition to litigation, Mr. Mandaro counsels technology-based companies and other enterprises in all aspects of intellectual property. He counsels prestigious companies in the retail, apparel, toy and restaurant industries in brand development, protection, enforcement and anti-counterfeiting. He has extensive experience in resolution of matters through negotiation, mediation, alternative dispute resolution, and strategic licensing.
