Philip H. Gottfried has experience in all aspects of intellectual property law, including litigation and counseling in patent, trademark, copyright, and unfair competition. He is experienced in filing for intellectual property rights protection before the appropriate government agencies and in prosecuting and defending intellectual property rights before various federal courts and government agencies, including the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the U.S. Copyright Office.
Mr. Gottfried has brought and defended intellectual property lawsuits and defended against lawsuits involving patents, trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition. He has handled intellectual property rights litigation involving the fashion and apparel industry, manufacturing and information gathering businesses, and companies dealing with information dissemination activities, including Internet activities.
Over the past thirty-five years, Mr. Gottfried has been engaged in protecting the intellectual property rights of various companies with regard to infringement and anti-counterfeiting activities, and he has been instrumental in obtaining and protecting the patent, trademark and copyright properties for companies in a broad range of industries.
Mr. Gottfried has a degree in physics from the City College of New York, and law degrees from Brooklyn Law School and George Washington University Law School where he obtained a Masters degree in Patent and Trade Regulation Law. He is a registered patent attorney and a member of the Bar in numerous federal district courts and federal circuit courts of appeal, including the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
